Just watched it, the late night show. Few Issues! As an audience of his, and as far as anyone remembers’, Michael ne’er changed his name after the Victory Tour, and he remained Michael forever! Correct? So, the movie should’ve been named Jackson 5, RATHER, Michael, because, this isn’t about Michael -> the solo artist that the audience remembers especially from the 90s, including me! This is another Bob Dylan’s A Complete Unknown left unstitched.
Where was his changed get-up style, the songs -> they don’t care for us, smooth criminal, blood is on the dance floor, black or white, the whole song Beat It being played, and many more; where were that? Where was his relationship with Lisa Presley, and then the incident of Eminem making parody of him which created the news, his 24/7 doctor, then the controversy involved about his Legal case; I think that should’ve been included in the movie called -> Michael! Again, the selection of songs played was of the Jackson 5, and not of the Michael alone, except for few minutes that were introduced, but only after the interval, which was quite flabbergasting! I awaited that they would play the entire BEAT IT, but that didn’t happen either!
Furthermore, I’ve started noticing in the recent movies that these PR Agencies would come in between and portray themselves as if they’re the Alpha on this Planet and no one can become anything without PR; YET, PR Agencies for me would always remain as (Pay & Use Services). As if without PR Agencies, MJ was nothing, or, Bob Dylan was nothing! Was NOBEL Prize to Dylan arranged or laundered by the PR Agencies? Of course not!
Great casting! Spectacular acting! YET, the Michael which the audience knew across World, was missing in the Picture! Thus, the name of the flick could’ve been -> Jackson 5 and not Michael, OR, the movie should’ve been started when Michael declares that this Victory Tour with the Jackson 5 would be his last tour! This should’ve been the first scene of the movie and not the last!
Why I am saying all this? Because most of the Globalization started in the Mid-90s, thus, people knew Michael as with different get-up Style, and not of the 80s style!
And just like I kept waiting in The Complete Unknown the Song Things Have Changed, similarly, I kept waiting that they would play the entire BEAT IT or They Don’t Care For Us or Smooth Criminal! Alas, that didn’t happen either! Or maybe they could’ve titled the movie as -> The Early Life Of Michael!
All said and done, I quite didn’t feel the energy what I feel when I listen to BEAT IT! That was missing in the entire movie! Sorry!☹
