Review of The Amateur

One would get a feel of The Mechanic in some scenes i.e. neutralize targets organically and naturally. Charles is amateur, indeed. But there’s one issue. If the Intelligence can get 360 degrees camera footage from the London conference room, and all zoomed in; then when Charles escaped from the International Airport, shouldn’t the face recognition had identified him, as, not until the second half, Charles used the face masquerading technique hopping from one location to another at the same time! Never mind!

A good Trance music is something that infuses life in any Flick. And the Shellshock did the same in the middle of the flick, no matter even it was for few seconds. Again, a good quality Trance, and Shellshock revived the late 90s and early 00s Trance Genre.

The reason why most of the Intelligence Agencies become successful, because of their concept of Hiring, who deserves and are worthy to get hired, and not just restricted to the LinkedIn or Monster Jobs or Indeed.com or Social Media platforms’ for Resumes’/CVs. This is the reason why KGB, CIA, MSS, MOSSAD, etc. were able to build great Network of Networks. But again, there’re drawbacks in that too. People can do anything for Money, Fame, Good Life. And here is where it create issues, as I wrote in my previous blog when CNNi published a particular headline (Link & Embedded Link: https://www.jpranavc.com/2025/03/i-wrote-earlier-about-specific-types-of.html ) wherein too much of anything doesn’t end up serving anyone, forget about the World itself!

Timothee Chalamet would reach where Rami Malek is today, which again, Labeouf somehow missed, post Transformers! No idea why!

Coming back to Amateur. Look, complicity with my enemy’s enemy my friend hardly works, like in the case of Stuhlbarg in the flick itself. Thus, contacting other Agency to neutralize earlier Agent’s partner, or, maybe, what’s been done in the reality too, by the FVEY, vide engaging with the K-Army, that BTW ruined Canada, merely for the sake to Counter India; also hardly worked, rather it ruined Canada for good! Because by hiring anyone, you’re not sure what traits you’re nourishing, that can a day create a hole within a rabbit hole too, without anyone knowing it, and that too, not for a better tomorrow.

The title is perfect, looking at how Charles initially tried to take the Lead in London at Allergan Clinic. Means, so openly, hardly secured by a latch, DESPITE Charles knowing how intrude in someone else’s electronics so well, thus, had he followed the same course, what he did in the end, then, it would’ve looked more professional. But again, scent of a beautiful good woman that a person lost for good, can make anyone feel been betrayed by the universe. Whereas, the pool scene was from The Mechanic Series, if I’m not wrong, and do correct me.

It was an engaging flick, but had some loopholes, and also adaptations, inspirations drawn from others flicks. Again, something, original always is much better!

All said & done, a decent weekend watch. 😊

Review Of A Complete Unknown

Mr. Dylan indeed became famous in the beginning only, also he had direction for a home too, despite being ‘own’ aka himself; unlike Darwin who didn’t publish initially, or Emily Dickinson, or Vincent Gogh, or many others; thus, if the title would’ve been Things Have Changed w.r.t. to the change he wanted to bring into the Folk carnival, wouldn’t that be justified then! Just a dilemma! BTW, I missed, Things Have Changed!

Now, this is a video track playlist of Mr. Dylan! Thus, you must’ve an adapted taste for folk, country; until, the rock part comes in the end, and further, if you’re a kind of a person who listens, not to various artists, or live radio, or, mix hits; but, the entire of playlist of one artist only, then this would captivate you, otherwise, you would find it less of a story about an artist, and more of a single artist playlist, with several missing dots in the story itself. As lot of things the flick has missed. The entire personal life, struggles (if any), past, present, history is missing; whilst the movie jumps to the present times of Oscar & Nobel in the epilogue after the band changing the theme of the carnival in the end; means skipping that much of the part of true story, and restricting it to few years maybe, makes less of a movie, and more of a selective playlist; again, nothing wrong in that too; but in today’s age where many prefer listening to different tracks rather of any single artist, thus, how many would enjoy it as a true story, where story is not stitched together, except the  playlist?

Timothee Chalamet, I’ve no words for him. Means, how can an actor, with such a versatile phenomenal performances’, emerged in the present era. Not an easy thing! Means, you put this artist into any role, and he is just taking that to another level! This, as a viewer I’m writing! Sometimes I wonder, at such young age, a person has played so many challenging roles, of every domain; then what else is left to achieve, except an Oscar, which would also come one or the other day!

Now you would give me an example of many founders, entrepreneurs‘, promoters’, politicians, and hedge fund managers’, who also achieved things at young age; but again, we’re here talking about exceptional performances in kaleidoscopic roles; which you can only get in the field of media or literature; and no where else. Because, at other places, what you’re doing is merely 2+2=4 all your life. And further, that’s why I don’t even consider non-fiction/reference books’ as literature! And this is the reason why Mr. Dylan won the NOBEL in Literature because of his versatile fiction writing. And that’s why, what Timothee at such young age accomplished, others couldn’t. This is not what I’m contradicting myself, wherein I wrote, Entertainment industry shouldn’t become inspiration for the political movements! Of course, they shouldn’t! But, kaleidoscopic versatility, can only be achieved vide, impeccable fiction, heart thumping adventure, and, filtered greatest artistic feature! No more No less!

All said and done. A good weekend watch! 😊

Review Of Babygirl

Take example of Miller’s Girl; the same age Gap, yet, there was a story, the maturity of Cairo, impeccable in terms of literature, philosophy, to life itself; thus, that made the difference where Age after all didn’t matter.

Alas, in Babygirl, let us first Swap the roles of Banderas & Kidman, and now, Banderas is in the quest for his ultimate cognitive orgasm, let’s say with a nineteen year old intern, doing the same things what Kidman was doing to achieve her ultimate cognitive orgasm, exuding pathological sexual desires having no iota of maturity, including in the working hours at office; and then, you would see what media would be publishing -> from mansplaining to vulgar to excessive masculinity!

The problem is not with the theme as such, as I explained above, there are lot of flicks with the same themes present. Yet, there’s something called the story, which is missing, and that’s why Babygirl is A24’s ultimate low-life flick.

And it is because of such vagabond illiterate Interns like Samuel, and, CEOs like Romy, who’ve made Corporate to Social conversions, less worthy; in the offices eating ties (just imagine, what if Jacob doing the same thing & eating, let’s any Intern’s scarf, hair, etc. in the office, sending her Milk to drink, and saying, ‘good girl’; then how you would’ve portrayed that in the media?), to, 24x7 discussing the orgasm gap, the conversations then would have been so so irritating! Means, if I’m imagining myself sitting with Romy, what I’m discussing with her 24/7 then?

Look! This is about pathological sexual desires. No issues with that! But, there should be some story at least! Like the difference between Companion & Wifelike. Whilst former exuded the humanoid not merely a sex slave; whilst in the latter, explicitly did (at least it appeared to me)!

No idea why Kidman or Banderas did this flick. Again, the issue is not with the theme, BUT, with the story itself, which is absent and nowhere to be found.

If you’re taking your sexual dissatisfaction or desires at the Workplace, as what Romy did; what Samuel did; then don’t expect a conducive ethical working environment; and please then don’t publish how men at the workplace sexually abused many innocent women, again, AT THE WORK PLACE, running #MeToo movement! Beyond that, you’re free to do whatever you want to do!

All said and done; Sorry, didn’t like the flick for the following reasons!
